The Miss Holly barstool - also launched at the London Design Festival - is a continuation of the “Miss Holly” family of chairs and table, produced by Stolab. Made from solid wood, the legs are turned and the seat is CNC routered, then glued together and re-routered. The three-dimensional sculptured seat follows the soft, feminine curves of its predecessors, but the proportions of the seat are more overwhelming compared to conventional bar stools, imbuing it with a sense of power and attitude.
“The intention was to create a product that is not only visually interesting, but approaches the hand crafted tradition that lies at the heart of Stolab, in an industrial way” says the designer. The barstool is intended as a contemporary addition to both Stolab’s catalogue of products and the Miss Holly series.
