Månsson Optik, 1999
The optician store is based in a building dating back to the turn of the 19th century. The biggest challenge was to create a retail space that could incorporate two fitting rooms plus a staircase, and which would feel both spacious and luxurious, in an area measuring just 34 m2 in total. In the ceiling, panels illuminated with indirect lighting were used to break up the physical barriers of each room. Another solution was to emphasise the verticality of the space, which was achieved, in part, by using a narrow, almost three-metre-high door.
