Optician in Malmö, Sweden – 1998
The brief was to design an optician shop that would reflect an exclusive product range. The challenge of this project was to construct a functional shop with two fitting rooms and a staircase within 34 square metres. One side of the main room is used as a totally open display window where the city square outside integrates with the shop. The ambition was to offer an experience that made the shop appear larger than it actually is. To emphasize this, indirect lightning was used to erase the physical boundaries of the ceiling. All of the interior fittings were custom-made for the store concept by the architect.
